We are proud to announce that CDS Monarch President/CEO, Sankar Sewnauth, will be presented with the prestigious Patriot Award by the Rochester chapter of the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) committee. A formal presentation will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 10th at CDS Monarch’s Wolf Life Transitions Center in Webster (860 Hard Road).
The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed. An employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member, may nominate individual supervisors and bosses for support provided directly to the nominating Service member and his or her family. Mr. Sewnauth was nominated by NY Army National Guard Specialist Brian Kennedy, who is a full-time employee of CDS Monarch.
“I can’t say enough about Sankar and what a great leader he truly is. A good leader always takes care of his men and women first. He cares not only about the individuals he is serving but his employees and everyone else around him as well,” stated Specialist Brian Kennedy.
“As the Awards Coordinator for the Rochester ESGR, I’ve always felt that I have the best job on the Committee. Every presentation has been different, but the one constant is that every recipient of the Patriot Award is a good person. They don’t realize that their support for their employee is a truly patriotic act, but in their own way, they are supporting our Armed Forces, one soldier at a time,” stated Frank Gerham, Awards Coordinator, Rochester ESGR Committee.
The entire CDS Monarch family would like to extend their congratulations to Mr. Sewnauth for this outstanding achievement!

ESGR has served our country for more than 40 years, fostering a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. These citizen warriors could not defend and protect us at home and abroad without the continued promise of meaningful civilian employment for themselves and their families. ESGR has continued to adapt to meet the needs of Reserve Component members, their families and America’s employers by joining forces with a network of other national, state and local government and professional trade organizations as together, We All Serve!
