The one-man exhibit “Breaking Free”, featuring Rochester artist and philanthropist Greg Polisseni, will open on Friday, May 3rd from 5:00-8:00pm at the SC Fine Art Gallery, located at 1115 E. Main St., Door 7 in Rochester, NY.
The exhibit will feature dozens of original paintings, posters and prints by Polisseni, including a special piece he created for Warrior Salute, a service of CDS Monarch, during SC Fine Art's 2012 XRIJF exhibit: Art at the Jazz Fest. The piece, titled “Stars & Stripes,” is an original, limited-edition print and poster series inspired by our veterans sacrifices. The artist will be in attendance for personalized signings of his lithographs. Polisseni and SC Fine Art Gallery owner, Steve Argento, will donate all proceeds from the sale of “Stars & Stripes” to Warrior Salute.
“I was honored to be asked to create a piece last summer, during the Jazz Fest, to be placed at The Nucor House. After all that our Veterans have sacrificed for us, I couldn’t think of a better way to honor them,” stated Greg Polisseni.
“We are extremely grateful for all of the support that Greg Polisseni and SC Fine Art Gallery have shown to Warrior Salute and our Veterans. This exhibit is just one more way that they are giving back to Veterans, while also helping to educate our community about ways they can also support Veterans who may be struggling with PTSD or a Traumatic Brain Injury,” stated Sankar Sewnauth, CDS Monarch President/CEO.
This will be a one-of-a-kind art reception with Valet and Red Carpet treatment for all guests, and hors d'oeuvres, refreshments and a special limited edition 5" x 7" lithograph for all VIP guests. There is a minimum $10.00 donation per person for VIP admittance. All proceeds from VIP ticketing will benefit Warrior Salute. Additionally, the largest HD projected video in Rochester can be seen at the Corner of E. Main and N. Goodman on Friday evening during the exhibit opening.
The exhibit at SC Fine Art Gallery will run from May 3rd through June 30th, 2013. For more information about the reception and exhibit, or to purchase a copy of “Stars & Stripes”, please visit www.StarsandStripesArt.com. Also, the “Stars & Stripes” truck can be seen driving around Rochester.
