WEBSTER, NY – Continuing its long tradition of supporting those serving our country in uniform, Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE) today announced that it has entered a partnership that will allow the company to support 20 veterans throughout 2012 with such vital services as therapy and vocational training. Nucor has agreed to partner with Continuing Developmental Services, Inc. and the CDS Warrior SALUTE Program, developed to help returning service members and their families with personalized life and job transition support.
The CDS Warrior SALUTE Program provides support and resources to service members in pursuit of their personal goals as they transition to civilian life or return to military duty by offering access to therapists, vocational training, group therapy, independent living skills, physical/occupational therapy, case management, food, shelter and transportation services. Nucor’s commitment will allow the Warrior SALUTE Program to service an additional 20 veterans in 2012. “The partnership with Nucor will immediately and directly help Veterans get the critical services they need now,” stated Sankar Sewnauth, President/CEO of CDS. “We are extremely grateful for the support and generosity of Nucor to the Warrior SALUTE Program. Assess to determine the needs of each Service Member.
Listen to ensure each Service Member has the opportunity to share his/her feelings.
Understand to synthesize specific psychological, social, and vocational needs & goals.
Transition to plan with the individual how to get back into community life.
Empower to provide each Service Member with the tools to live independently and productively in their community and to make informed choices and decisions.
