On Saturday, May 6th, the Genesee Region Special Olympic Track and Field Tournament was held at York Central School in Retsof, NY. There were teams from Monroe, Livingston, Wyoming and Genesee Counties participating.
CDS Monarch had 22 athletes in the competition. Kevin M. from CDS Monarch was selected as one of four torch bearers to bring the torch into the stadium with the NY State Law Enforcement Runners. Kevin was given the honor to light the cauldron to start the games.
