Kyesha started at CDS Monarch in January of 2015 as a support specialist at Blended Creative Opportunities (BCO). Her daily tasks include helping the individuals work toward completing daily goals, assisting them with music and art projects, among others.

"Kyesha is always promoting independence and growth with the individuals." Blended Creative Opportunities site manager Valarie Daniels said. "She brings smiles and laughs to the individuals."

Kyesha said she likes working at CDS Monarch because she has a son with a disability, so she has certain skills that are transferrable to her job. "I'm just used to certain things the individuals have to deal with on a daily basis. [The individuals] are warm, loving people who just need someone to listen and really understand them," she said.

Kyesha said she chose to work at CDS Monarch because it seemed like a better opportunity than some other places. "I like the fact that they help with school," she said. "That's a big thing for me and stood out because I'd like to go back to school. [CDS Monarch] also gives a lot back to their employees," she said.

In her spare time, Kyesha enjoys writing poetry, reading and riding her bike with her son.
