Vanessa Tuckey has been with CDS Monarch for five years, as a Support Specialist at Penbrooke Creative Opportunities (PCO). In this position Vanessa is responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals at PCO. Vanessa assists individuals with meeting their goals, participating in tabletop activities and volunteer work for Meals on Wheels with two delivery routes per week.

"The most rewarding part of my job is helping the guys get through a day and encouraging them to be independent," says Vanessa.

"Vanessa Tuckey has been an incredible help the past three months. There has been no Treatment Coordinator (TC) in her module for over two months and she has taken it upon herself to complete many of those duties. She has completed daily billing for the module, and also completes billing for another module when that TC is out for the day. She has participated in several ISP meetings for the individuals from her module and has maintained constant contact with the individuals' houses and families in the absence of a TC. Vanessa has been eager to complete all of these tasks and learn new roles and responsibilities with the additional workload she is taking on. She is truly appreciated and has helped maintain continuity for the individuals within that module," stated Ben Favata, PCO Site Manager.

Vanessa's advice for other Support Specialists is to "try your best to maintain a routine when working with the individuals. Stability helps to create a secure environment that the individuals can feel comfortable and safe in."

In Vanessa's free time she enjoys spending time with her four dogs: Scooby, Scrappy, Barney, and Fred. She also enjoys time with her friends, family and boyfriend, in addition to cooking.

Thank you, Vanessa, for being dedicated to assisting the individuals at CDS Monarch, and providing support to ensure that satisfaction is met. You are greatly appreciated for all that you do!
