Rebecca Stewart has been a part of the CDS Monarch team for the past 12 years, working as a Speech Language Pathologist. She started out at Perinton Day Treatment, and from there moved to Linden Creative Opportunities (LCO). In addition to LCO, she also works at both Penbrooke and Webster Creative Opportunities, Beckwith Retirement (Day Service), 13 of CDS Monarch's residences and Warrior Salute. She is responsible for overseeing and implementing speech and language services at all of the sites, as well as ensuring safe dining practices for the individuals. In July 2013, Becky became the Clinical Team Leader for the Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy team, and manages that team of eight staff. This year she also participated in the Leadership 101.5 class. Becky provides training at NEO on choking prevention initiatives and has also taught American Sign Language (ASL) classes for staff in the past.

"The best part of my job is the daily contact that I have with the people we assist," shares Becky. "Each day is an opportunity to connect with them and it feels good to be able to help them improve their speech and language abilities, as well as their overall quality of life."

"Becky is a true team player," stated Tasha Mercado, Site Manager for Linden Creative Opportunities. "She has been instrumental in implementing the meal observations at Linden and ensures that all of the forms are kept up to date. Becky consistently takes the time to work with new staff until they are comfortable with diet changes. She participates in team meetings and always has a wealth of knowledge to share."

Becky's advice to her fellow coworkers is "to work hard to identify the things about your career that motivate and sustain you. Everybody should recognize what their purpose is here."

In her free time Becky enjoys reading and spending time outdoors.

Thank you, Becky, for the professionalism, compassion and inspiration that you give to your coworkers, the individuals you assist, and to the overall mission of CDS Monarch! You are appreciated for all that you do!
