Tom Tartaglia joined the Warrior Salute team at CDS Monarch in late 2010. He is currently the Program Development Manager, and is responsible for relationship building with donors, employers and vocational placement programs, local colleges and educators, as well as a variety of community partners, which include other Veteran service agencies. Tom assists with the overall administration of Warrior Salute, actively seeks out vocational placements for the Veterans in the program, acts as a representative of the program out in the community and seeks out fundraising opportunities to support the program. He also recruits veterans for the program, helps them with case management needs and emergency placements, and enjoys working with a team of six staff members, as well as the program's interns and consultants. A few things that Tom has helped develop include: the overall program structure (which has led to increased efficiency and decreased costs) and the graduate support program (which serves as a touchstone for Veterans after they have graduated from Warrior Salute).

"Tom Tartaglia represents Warrior Salute everywhere he goes. As a Veteran himself, he has demonstrated his passion for assisting other Veterans," stated Robert Mixon,  Major General, USA (ret) Executive Vice President. "He makes the program successful, and we're all proud of what he does, every day."

"Tom is a dedicated, passionate, and an integral leader of the Warrior Salute team," stated Sarah Brasse, Warrior Salute Program Clinical Coordinator. "He continually pushes the Veterans to challenge themselves as they work towards their goals. His continual focus on the needs of the Veterans and the growth of the program drives the success of each participant, the team, and the program as a whole."

"My favorite thing about this job is that there are never two days that are the same. Every day is exciting," stated Tom. "I enjoy building relationships with the veterans and watching them grow and transition over the six months that they are with us."

Tom is a member of the Finger Lakes Economic Development Committee and the Chair of this year's Serve. Honor. Support. Symposium. He is also Safe Talk certified (a suicide prevention program).

In his free time Tom enjoys participating in cross fit and going for runs with his dog. Thank you, Tom, for all of the hard work and effort that you put forth to help our military service men and women have a successful transition back into their community! You clearly demonstrate the CDS Monarch shared values of Courage, Professionalism, Inspiration, Compassion, Innovation and Community.
