A group from Blended Creative Opportunities (BCO) has been volunteering once a week at the Scottsville Adoptions Center since October of last year. Every Tuesday they visit the animals, take the dogs for walks, and play with the cats. Many of the individuals have enjoyed it so much that they ordered t-shirts and sweatshirts to show their support for the shelter. The group has also been featured on their website under "community outreach". Scottsville Adoptions Center is a non-funded facility that takes in dogs from as far away as Georgia and Ohio, and keeps the animals until they find their forever home.

To show their support the animal education group at BCO held a bake sale and raffle and sold "Paws for a Cause" at Dave's Store. Paws were purchased for $1 each and put on display, with all proceeds going to the purchase of supplies for the shelter pets in order to make their stay as comfortable as possible. A total of $143 was raised! A kuranda bed donated along with other supplies needed at the shelter. Thank you to everyone who helped out and participated in making the fundraiser a success! The staff and pets at Scottsville Adoptions Center appreciate it too!

Julie S. from BCO won the gift basket that was raffled off for "Paws for a Cause". She won a basket of goodies that included movie tickets, a Dunkin' Donuts gift card, Dave's Store Bucks, art from BCO artists, a CDS Monarch T-shirt, pet themed magnets, and more!
