Mary came to CDS Monarch in February 2002, bringing with her 27 years of transportation experience from the Webster School District, where she had been a bus driver and instructor. When Mary first took on the role here she found it challenging, but she quickly fell in love with the position and her coworkers.

"I love it - driving, being acknowledged and respected by the individuals, and having a great team to support me," she says.

Mary's day to day tasks have included everything from keeping logs and files for 25 van drivers, teaching NEO classes, conducting accident or driving infraction retraining, maintaining driver's cell phones, and driving van routes, to dispatching, communicating with families and staff when there are delays and conducting safety inspections of residences.

Mary's advice for success? "Be positive and smile, a smile can get you places. And don't forget to have enthusiasm, especially when you are faced with a challenge."

After 10 years here, Mary has decided to retire and spend time enjoying her "toys". She wants to go camping in her RV, be more active in her Corvette club, cruise Lake Ontario in her boat, visit family and do some sewing. She also says she would like to come back and volunteer at CDS Monarch. Mary, we hope you have an enjoyable retirement - we thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to CDS Monarch and our mission!
