Traditionally when we hear about breast cancer our thoughts are immediately drawn to women. However, breast cancer does not discriminate across gender lines. How far would you go to try and help end cancer? Would you donate to the cause, if you could? Would you decide to forget how crazy walking 60 miles in 3 days sounds to simply try and raise some money for the cause?

Well, that's exactly what three CDS Monarch staff are going to do. Penny Bloom, Sue Barone and Pamela Bolger (Team Double Trouble) will be heading to Cleveland, Ohio in August to hike 60 miles over the course of three days to raise money for breast cancer research and community programs.

Sankar Sewnauth, President/CEO of CDS Monarch, will be spending the night on the roof of the Agency's Wolf Life Transitions Center, located at 860 Hard Road, to show his support! Sankar, along with four employees, will take this challenge to bring awareness to breast cancer. When approached by Team Double Trouble about this health and wellness initiative, Sankar enthusiastically accepted their invitation! "CDS Monarch thoroughly supports our employees when it comes to health and wellness initiatives. It is a top priority to provide education, opportunities, and support that embraces healthy living," Sankar stated. "I am proud of this group for not only walking 60 miles but also raising awareness about this important topic."

The roof stay for breast cancer will take place on Thursday June 7th, beginning at 1:00pm when the employees, along with Sankar and Justin Mirando, Director of Residential Services, take their place on the roof. The group will stay on the roof until 1:00pm the next day.

We are seeking donations in order to keep Sankar up on the roof. Our goal is $6000, which will benefit both the Susan G Komen Foundation, and The Wolf Foundation which supports unfunded areas of need for CDS Monarch. Donations can be made directly to The Wolf Foundation, or stop by during the roof stay and donate in person! To donate online, please visit www.thewolffoundation.org, and select In honor of "Team Double Trouble".

Together, we can make a difference in the health and wellness of all!
