Ideal weather set the stage for this year's JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge participants. Over nine thousand people completed the 3.5 mile course at the Rochester Institute of Technology. And out of those nine thousand plus, a team of 21 staff represented CDS at the event.
The JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge is a world-wide series of 3.5-mile running events open to groups of full-time employees from organizations within the business and public sectors. After the race, each organization groups its participants into an unlimited number of four-person teams in order to determine the race's top teams. Awards are presented for individual and team performances.
The event helps companies to promote health and fitness in the workplace, foster goodwill and camaraderie among their employees, and show their commitment to the community and best environmental practices. The Corporate Challenge strives to make a difference through a donation to a not-for-profit organization in each host city, and through our Teaming Up For a Greener Tomorrow program, an initiative designed to make the Corporate Challenge the world's greenest road race. This year's Rochester donation recipient was Child Care Council.
The Corporate Challenge generated an attitude of team spirit and collaboration amongst staff at the agency. Staff representation demonstrated true support and camaraderie amongst all the departments. Not only was a substantial amount of money raised for a good cause, but everyone really enjoyed the exercise, as well as the good company. A special thanks to Team Captain, Diana Luther, who organized and led CDS' team at the event. Her initiative to organize and support the team exemplifies CDS' commitment to employees' health and wellness.
CDS would also like to thank Trish Gallagher, owner and caterer extraordinaire, of "Where Diva's Play" for providing the yummy treats given away at CDS' tent.
Thank you to all who participated and supported this year's Corporate Challenge!
