On Wednesday select cast members from Disney's The Lion King put on a music and dance workshop for individuals at CDS as well as members of the community. For the first half of the workshop everyone got to enjoy some traditional drumming on an African djembe. The audience played along by clapping their hands and stomping their feet.
During the second half of the workshop everyone learned how to warmup and do some dance moves from the show. The energy was high and a good time was had by all. "I liked the moves they were doing. It was fun to learn the new dance steps," commented Jennifer M. At the end the performers answered questions about the show and talked about their own experiences from being in the business for a number of years. The performance ended with an enormous round of applause and a big "thank you!"

The Lion King is running through April 17th at the Rochester Broadway Theatre League. Tickets can purchased online or at the box office.
