CDS families, staff and community members came together on Sunday, March 13th for the 4th Annual "Strikes for Abilities" Bowling event sponsored by North Forest Office Space. The entire event was put on by the families of CDS individuals and would not have been possible without their hard work and dedication.
"It's important for me, as a parent, to be a part of the bowling event." said Karyl Zoyack, Committee Chair of the event. "CDS has done so much to help my son and this is just one way I can give back. My son enjoys participating in Special Olympics and recreation activities with CDS. As families, we know that without this fundraiser, our children's dreams to compete and participate in these activities would not be possible. Thank you to all who came out to support!" Karyl's son Frank lives in a CDS home, participates on CDS Special Olympics and bowled at the event this year. Margie Dell and Sheila Nesbitt, whose brother Chuckie lives in a CDS home, both served on the Bowling Committee and put together a team with members of their family. Margie went above and beyond recruiting event sponsors and donations.
A total of $22,000 was raised which will help fund Special Olympics and recreation programs at CDS. Thank you to everyone in the CDS family who supported "Strikes for Abilities" this year!
