Individuals and staff from CDS' Blended Creative Opportunities (BCO) program delivered donations of blankets, diapers, wipes, snacks, toys and other items to the children at Daystar, a daycare for medically-fragile infants and toddlers located in Pittsford, NY. "We wanted to give back to the community and thought this was a deserving organization," said Jay V., an individual at BCO. BCO raised money to purchase the donations by holding carnation sales at CDS for Valentine's and St. Patrick's Day.
During their visit, individuals had the chance to play with some of the children and attend a music therapy session with them. Everyone had a smile on their face. The staff at Daystar were very grateful for the donations. The daycare usually cares for 6-12 children on any given day. In the future Daystar hopes to move into a larger facility so they can double the number of infants they are able to care for. To learn more about Daystar, visit http://www.daystarhome.net/
